The sword was THE weapon of status in the Dark Ages, whether a fine piece made for a High Born or renowned Warrior, or a family heirloom passed down generations. The typical blade we produce is the double edged variety and can represent both Norse and Saxon identities. We also know that not every warrior carried an "Ulfbehrt" blade, and strive to represent the weapons the vast majority of sword owners would have used. A quality re-enactment weapon is likely to have a far more testing time than it's historical counterpart may have had, as even the most bloodthirsty of warriors would not have campaigned every weekend for six months or more every year, over perhaps ten or twenty years...their battles would have been far fewer! Our blades are made from tempered carbon steel in a process we have been using successfully for 40 years (Ok, –with one or two contour and lightness refinements!) and some of those early swords are still doing the rounds!

For a basic sword made from tempered and hardened EN45 steel we charge from £150, you choose your fittings from the examples below.
Scabbards are available from £28.

Fittings represent and are based on actual finds, and are generally
steel, iron brass or bronze. Blade dimensions nominally 28" x 1 7/8" (710mm x 47mm) with whole length fuller.
And while you're at it, don't forget a protective scabbard to house your new sword...we can supply our standard flexible leather or rigid wood lined leather scabbards with metal lockets and chapes, or produce a "special" to your design
