Drinking Horns
Whether for everyday, social or ritual purposes, no responsible Dark Age drinker would be seen without their Drykkjarhorn, or Drinking Horn! Whether a mammoth 3 Pinter or a more modest size (for the smaller folk!) there is a horn to be had for everyone. We buy in the rough product almost straight from the beast, and refine it until worthy of a place of honour amongst your Dark Age belongings!
Ornately carved drinking horns are not cost-effective sales items or historically common, but we are happy to pyrograph simple decorations, runes etc into the horn if so ordered.
Additionally, we can provide other horn products such as Signal or blowing horns with a bronze mouthpiece, beakers for ease of drinking when your longship is crossing stormy seas and a host of other things.
Like our horn stands make for easier boozing at the mead bench, although lacking historical evidence, any wind instrument musician will tell you a professional style mouthpiece makes for easier blowing on the battlefield!
